Brian,
I just wanted to give you some results from my experience with CFE. I’ve been a life long endurance athlete running my first 5 mile race at the age of 5 and ran for a Division I program in college. I’ve also been a high school cross country/track & field coach for the last 10 years. As an athlete and coach I always used traditional endurance methodology. Sometimes it brought me success but many times it brought frustration. In May I ran my second marathon devoting countless hours only to come up short, running a very disappointing 3:01.
In June I earned my CF Level I certification and in September I earned my CFE certification with Max. I’ve be following both site as well as doing some of my own programing since June. Last Sunday I ran an 18 mile race and ran 1:56.58, finishing in 11th place. On Monday I signed up for the Atlantic City Marathon because I wanted to see how my body would handle back to back weekends under CF & CFE programing. Today I ran the Marathon and ran 2:51.11 to take 9th overall! This was a 8 minute pr for me and I felt better today when I got done then I did last week after 18. I am completely sold and Unscared!
Thank You
Rich Airey

I get messages all the time of the great things people accomplish, and none is really better than the other. Whether someone does an Ironman, runs 100 miles, enters a Powerlifting meet, does their first 5k, or becomes UN-vegetarian. Its all epic stuff and truly explains the essence of what UnScared is. For the first blog I got this message a few days ago, via facebook. I decided on this one because I truly understand going from the mindset of having to put in miles upon miles for a long distance run and only knowing one way. Only to do it some other way with a HUGE reduction in mileage and a ton of strength and conditioning. Oh the F&%#$NG head games. My change came a few years ago, and I never stop getting that incredible feeling of what Rich went through when I get these messages, albeit this dude could kick my tail, the transition is the same. We somehow accept the fact that we were tired of not getting what we wanted, and in a brief yet epic moment… change starts to happen. Regardless if you have run ultra’s, marathons, 10k’s or you are just maybe wanting to do a 5k, it all starts in the same place. That place is change.
Below is an interview Rich sent over of his experiences. Feel free to comment, and ask him questions.

Always awesome to hear the results athletes are getting. Everything comes to the light and CFE training is just on the brink of really breaking through to the main-stream. Proud to be a part of it. Thanks for the great letter, Rich!
